Can I get a refund?

I'm in the US — does this apply?
Yes — this edition is written for you. Prices are given in dollars, and the locations, visual codes, dining protocol and screening matrix work in any city with a five-star hotel, a gallery district and a country club: Manhattan, Palm Beach, Greenwich, Dallas, Nashville, Charleston, San Francisco.
One note of transparency: the author is British, and the book draws on the British upper-class code as its model. American old money shares almost all of the same instincts — understatement, discretion, a horror of discussing what things cost, impeccable manners toward staff. Where a specific phrase reads as more British than American, take the principle rather than the wording literally.
I'm in the UK — does this apply?
Yes, and arguably more directly than anywhere else. The author is British and the book's foundations — the linguistic code, the dining protocol, the club and country-house culture, the horror of visible branding — come straight from British upper-class convention. If you're in London, Edinburgh, the Home Counties or anywhere with a decent hotel bar and a gallery, this is written on home ground.
